Larine Chung
Becoming
12" x 24"
Oil on Canvas
Larine Chung is an artist and educator who thrives on creativity and exploration. With a curious mind and a knack for observing the world around them, Chung brings ideas to life through a mix of mediums—painting, writing, and music. Passionate about storytelling, their work seamlessly blends the visual, literary, and auditory, capturing the attention of both viewers and listeners. “Becoming” is a meditation on how perception-like melody-shifts with movement, memory, and mood. Composed from imagination and guided by the contours of a musical phrase, this piece explores how a bloom might unfold not just in space, but in sound and feeling. Rather than rendering from life, I built the flowers through color and abstraction, balancing flatness with spatial harmony. The petals emerge and dissolve, suspended in a field of green that both holds and distorts them. This tension between depth and surface invites the viewer to consider how we construct beauty-how our inner rhythms shape what we see. In this work, perspective is not fixed. It is fluid, like a melody remembered differently each time it's heard. The bloom becomes a lens, a question, a quiet song about how we see and what we bring to the seeing.

Kathryn Jones
Pathways
30" x 40"
Oil on Cradled Panel
Kathryn is a contemporary fine artist based in the Seattle Area focusing on urban landscape paintings and figurative charcoal drawings. She is a graduate of the Kang-O’Higgins Contemporary Atelier at the Gage Academy of Art. Through oil paint and charcoal, Kathryn explores her interest in atmosphere, mood, and the juxtaposition of realism and abstraction. An essential part of her studio practice happens before any paint even touches the palette. She uses personal photographs that she digitally alters in Procreate and Lightroom as reference for her artwork. Her current series focuses on atmospheric oil paintings of urban exteriors and interiors that celebrate bold color and glowing light. Her work has been featured in various group shows in the Greater Seattle Area, as well as Laguna Beach. Her series Exit Only was on display in South Lake Union as part of “Storefronts 2023”, a public art program with Shunpike Arts.

Chris Holt
Relax, Refresh, Recharge
24" x 30"
Oil on Canvas
Chris Holt is a Pacific Northwest–based painter whose work captures fleeting moments of light, atmosphere, and quiet presence. Working primarily in oil, Holt creates landscapes and symbolic still lifes that invite viewers to slow down and reconnect with what’s often overlooked—clouds drifting, flowers standing in quiet contrast, light changing by the minute. Rather than documenting a place exactly as it appears, Holt paints how it feels to be there. His work often pairs familiar natural forms with subtle tension—stillness against movement, intimacy against vastness—creating images that feel both grounding and contemplative. These paintings are designed to live with the viewer, offering a sense of calm, reflection, and emotional clarity over time. Holt studied at the Gary Faigin Atelier at Gage Academy and has exhibited throughout the Seattle region. His work is collected by individuals and organizations who value craftsmanship, restraint, and meaning—art that doesn’t shout but endures. At its core, Holt’s practice is about presence. In a world of constant noise and acceleration, his paintings serve as visual anchors—quiet reminders to pause, look up, and notice what is already here.

Clara Schmitt
In-Between
18" x 16" x 8"
Fired clay, patina and steel base
Clara Schmitt is a French-American sculptor based in Seattle, specializing in contemporary figurative sculpture. Born and raised in Paris, France, she began her professional career in academia as a social science researcher. In 2015, she relocated to Seattle, where she later became a mother. Following the pandemic and a life-altering mental health crisis in 2021, she made a decisive shift to pursue her long-held passion for sculpture full-time. She enrolled in the Sculpture Atelier at Gage Academy of Art. Now a graduate of the program, she teaches sculpture classes and workshops at Gage and serves as a teaching assistant in the Sculpture Atelier. Her artistic work uses realistic figurative sculpture to examine the complex nature of identity, combining classical rendering with deliberate formal interventions that challenge the idea of a fixed or idealized self and reflect on how human experience impact the evolving and layered nature of identity. The resulting figures remain open and layered, resisting resolution into a singular, fixed form.
